What’s new about Alan Wake 2?
Alan Wake 2, which is scheduled to premiere on October 27, 2023, promises to provide a terrifying and original experience for players. Initially, the release date would be October 17th, however, Remedy Entertainment chose to postpone the release by 10 days.
The game will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with no plans announced for PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch versions. Only the digital option to purchase the game will be offered, which aims to reduce the cost of marketing.
What to expect from the plot of Alan Wake 2?
Once an acclaimed writer, now Alan Wake finds himself trapped in a dark universe called “The Dark Place” for 13 years. However, in the new game, Wake will be joined by a new protagonist: Saga Anderson. She is an experienced FBI agent who finds herself in Bright Falls to investigate a series of ritual murders.
In the plot, Saga’s investigation will be one of the main narratives, while the other will be Alan’s fight in a parallel universe similar to New York. When playing, you will be able to switch between characters freely and explore their respective realities. The focus of the game will be atmosphere and style, bringing a new experience and a debut in the survival horror genre.
What stage is the development of Alan Wake 2 at?
Currently, Remedy Entertainment, responsible for developing the game, uses the proprietary Northlight graphics engine to develop the project. According to Sam Lake, from Remedy Entertainment, the idea is that ” Alan Wake 2 be Remedy Games’ most beautiful game of all time.”
Still according to Lake, preparation for Alan Wake 2 never stopped: “Over more than a decade, after the Alan Wakebetween each project we did, I eagerly worked on Alan Wake 2 with a small core team, dreaming up different incarnations of the concept”, he revealed in a recent interview.
Apparently, the debut of Alan Wake 2 promises to raise the standards set by Remedy Entertainment, bringing an unforgettable gaming experience with an innovative and bold concept especially aimed at lovers of the horror genre.
