PS Plus: Despite great games, players’ interest is in the basement

What happened? Despite a good selection of games in October, many players don’t seem to be really interested in the current free games on PS Plus. At least that’s what a data analysis by colleagues at TrueTrophies claims, which deals with the first players of the monthly games. According to TrueTrophies, October delivered the second worst result of the entire year.

Straight Weird West Very few gamers seem to be interested. The title made it to number 5 among the worst-performing PS Plus titles of the year. According to TrueTrophies, only August 2023 performed worse than October. Back then there was the toy building kit Dreams been the top title in the PS Plus line up.

The Callisto Protocol (PS5)

Farming Simulator 22 (PS4, PS5)

Weird West: Definitive Edition (PS4, PS5)

Is the lack of interest due to PS Plus’s game selection? It’s not that easy to say. As TrueTrophies also notes in its evaluation, the lack of attention given to PS Plus games could also be due to the fact that players are simply busy with too many other titles at the moment. Regardless of whether EA Sports FC, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Baldur’s Gate 3 or Mortal Kombat 1: The competition is simply enormous.
