Introducing Alan Wake 2: A Game for Newcomers

Shortly before the release, the developers at Remedy Entertainment provided us with a new trailer for “Alan Wake 2”. This is aimed primarily at newcomers and summarizes the events of the first part.

A few days before the release of the horror adventure, the developers at Remedy released a new trailer for “Alan Wake 2”. As usual, this is available for viewing below these lines.

With the newly released trailer, the Finnish studio is primarily targeting newcomers who have not played the first “Alan Wake” from 2010. With a running time of just under three minutes, the video summarizes the story of the first part and explains how the events of “Alan Wake 2” came about.

But players who are familiar with the original “Alan Wake” can also use the story trailer to refresh their memories of the first part. On the one hand you can see the protagonist Alan Wake, who finds himself in the so-called Dark Place.

The events surrounding Bright Falls are also discussed.

Remedy’s first survival horror title

The plot of “Alan Wake 2” begins 13 years after the events of the first part. This time the focus is on two characters. The already mentioned author Alan Wake and the newcomer Saga Anderson. Anderson is an FBI agent who specializes in unusual and supernatural phenomena.

While the first part was a classic psychological thriller, “Alan Wake 2” will be Remedy’s first survival horror title. Shortly after the announcement of “Alan Wake 2”, the developers indicated that they wanted to put their own stamp on the genre.

“What I’m saying is that we’re very happy to put a stake in the ground and say we’re creating Remedy’s version of the survival horror genre. Gameplay, narrative, atmosphere, music – it all sings from the same hymn sheet, and that was very important to us from the start,” led Game director Kyle Rowley said so.
