How Long does it take to beat Spider-Man 2?

First up, as Insomniac has stated, Spider-Man 2 is “about the same as the first game” in length. The original Marvel’s Spider-Man was 17 hours in length for just the main story and 25.5 hours long for the main story plus side-quests, according to HowLongToBeatand that’s from a sample size of ~1,400 players.

So what do reports say about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Forbes’ Paul Tassi clocks the game’s main story at a reasonable 14-17 hours in length, and getting to 100% “probably takes around 28-30 hours”. Tassi had also mentioned it was “a point in the pro column” to be able to finish the game completely without devoting his entire life to it.

Marvel'S Spider-Man 2 (Ps5) Review

IGN did something differentthey deployed five of their staff members to complete the game. For just the main story, their slowest member took 25 hours to finish (admittedly took that long due to lack of fast travelling), and the fastest took 18 hours. On obtaining the platinum trophy, three accomplished the feat in a timeframe between 21-29 hours.

CGMagazine’s Spider-Man 2 review writer, Chris De Hoog said it has taken him ~21 hours to hit 75% completion, and the storyline is complete. With “probably” another nine hours for the platinum trophy to ding. So all-in-all, Spider-Man 2’s length depends on whether the person behind the sticks is aiming to rush through the main story or take their time with side quests, but it shouldn’t take a huge investment of time if fans are hanging around for just the story.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20 exclusively on the PS5 on Day One.
