Real Madrid president loves Brazilian duo, wants them to start in all big matches – report Latest

In Real Madrid, a couple of defeats often mean the end of the world and frequently land the coaching staff in real trouble.

That was the case when The whites lost 3-1 to Atletico Madrid last month, with president Florentino Perez furious with the defeat.

However, Real Madrid have recovered quite well since, registering three back-to-back victories, with the latest triumph coming against Napoli in the Champions League.

Florentino Perez prefers Rodrygo-Vinicius duo

Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Napoli highlighted that Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo can form and even lead the team’s attacking lines in a 4-4-2 formation.

Vinicius seemed to enjoy the role for the first time, working in tandem with Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo to cause all kinds of problems for the Napoli defence.

In light of the performance, Rodra P has come up with a report, suggesting that Florentino Perez loves the Brazilian duo and wants them to start in all big matches, ahead of Joselu.

It is hardly surprising as Vinicius, with 61 goals and 64 assists, has now become the most crucial attacker for Real Madrid, while Rodrygo has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence.

There has been some debate over the latter’s role of late though given that he is going through a lean patch and Joselu has been performing well. But the president favours to see Rodrygo with Vinicius in the big games.

Real Madrid to follow through with 4-4-2

If there is anything that signifies Carlo Ancelotti as a coach, it is to seek the consensus of the board members, despite his unquestionable tactical knowledge of the game.

Ancelotti seems to have found it with the attacking duo of Vinicius and Rodrygo. But in order to line up the two players in big matches while keeping a strong midfield, the Italian must streamline the 4-4-2 formation going forward.

That will help Ancelotti maintain strength in midfield with Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde offering creativity and dynamism while Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga can add stability in the middle of the park.

However, it remains to be seen whether or not this formula works when Real Madrid bring in a new attacking star, either in January or in the summer of 2024.
