GTA 5 is still one of the most successful games of all time. Nevertheless, Rockstar Games should remove some of the features from the game in GTA 6.

New York – GTA 5 is ten years old. Although the game has been around for a few years now, it is still considered one of the most successful games in the world. But even though we fondly remember the fifth part of the series, some of Rockstar Games’ design decisions remain questionable. Especially with regard to GTA 6, the studio should delete some of the features from its predecessor.

GTA 6: Features from the predecessor that Rockstar Games must not repeat under any circumstances

Remove these features: GTA 5 was released ten years ago and the hype has not yet been broken. 100,000 gamers still play the game on Steam every day. But even if the title has enjoyed incredible success, Rockstar Games should not repeat a few mistakes from the fifth part in GTA 6. We have listed three things for you that we would not miss in the much-awaited sixth part.

  1. Simplified game physics: In GTA 4, Rockstar Games was able to impress with the “Ragdoll” physics. Characters moved realistically through the game, but in return players had to be content with difficult car controls. In GTA 5, this physics has been significantly simplified. While this made car handling more accessible, the realism in character movements suffered. In GTA 6, Rockstar Games could combine both systems to offer us game physics that not only look beautiful but also feel good.
  2. GTA Online Focus: One reason why GTA 5 is still so successful is primarily GTA Online. Rockstar Games has also recognized this and has placed more and more focus on the online mode and its monetization. It’s actually quite ironic that GTA 5 likes to criticize capitalism, but now follows exactly this model in GTA Online. Rockstar is unlikely to forgo such a lucrative mechanic as GTA Online in GTA 6, but perhaps the focus there will be more on storytelling than on the same gangster side missions.
  3. Lineares Storytelling: The GTA series has always dealt critically with social issues. But in GTA 5, the actually exciting topics were often presented to the players in linear narratives. In order to advance the story, decisions had to be made exactly as the game intended. In GTA 6, storytelling can break with its old structure and give players more freedom to experience and influence the story according to their ideas.

If Rockstar Games moves away from the listed mechanics in GTA 6, we’re sure to get a game that turns the industry on its head. So far, however, the studio is still silent about the upcoming blockbuster title. Nevertheless, some features from leaks for GTA 6 are already confirmed.

Success of GTA 5

GTA 5 will celebrate its tenth anniversary in September 2023. Since its release through May of this year, the game has sold over 180 million times, making it the second best-selling game of all time after Minecraft. With sales of approximately $6 billion, it even became the highest-grossing entertainment product worldwide to date.

Although there is no official release date yet, a price for GTA 6 is already being discussed. And according to some rumors, this should be significantly higher than we are used to from AAA titles.
