The 2024 FIFA Congress is scheduled to take place on May 17 at the Queen Sirikit National Conference Centre. It will be 74e FIFA’s annual congress, but the first to be held in a country belonging to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The 2024 FIFA Congress is expected to bring together more than 1,000 delegates from around the world. This is an opportunity for FIFA members from 211 football federations around the world to introduce themselves and propose their candidate for the organization of the World Cup and also for the position of President of the FIFA. In addition, the congress will also choose the host country for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

The event also paves the way for Thailand to present itself as a potential host of the FIFA World Cup by coordinating with other ASEAN countries to become co-hosts. One of FIFA’s requirements for the country that will host the World Cup is that the country has once hosted the FIFA Congress.
