A rumor has recently been circulating that Grand Theft Auto 6 could cost 150 euros upon release, but is this rumor true? Will it be a Premium Edition, a Collector’s version, or the standard price of the game, given the increase in prices that the video game industry is currently practicing?
Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most anticipated games of recent years. The most recent rumor suggests that GTA 6 will be priced at $150 (or €139, excluding tax), which has angered some fans. So, is this a simple hoax, or could we believe it given the prices which continue to increase?
GTA 6: the price of 150 euros, speculation or reality?
The rumor was reported by the site Niche Gamer, who provided neither proof nor source. So it is likely that this is just speculation. In our opinion, it is very likely that the price of GTA 6 will be at least €69.99 or €79.99 in standard version, as is the case with most AAA games. But Rockstar could absolutely offer several editions, like all the other studios do.
Indeed, studios now tend to offer early access with their games through “premium” editions, as was the case recently with Starfield et Diablo 4. To play the game a few days before its official release, many are ready to take out their wallets and line up around thirty euros more than a standard version.

For the record, the Premium version with early access of Diablo 4 cost €89.99. For Starfieldthe Premium edition was offered at €104.99 on PC and €114.99 on Xbox, with an upgrade available at €34.99 if necessary. GTA 6 could well follow suitand given the wait around the game, we would not be surprised to see a price close to €150, perhaps with a few more goodies or cosmetics.
Alternatively, the company could take an entirely different approach and make GTA 6 a live service game, with a monthly subscription. With the potential for various cosmetics and rewards in a world GTA Online improved, there is no doubt that it would be a great success.
The official presentation of Grand Theft Auto 6 could take place in October, so be patient. Let us remember, however, that the game’s budget is estimated between 1 and 2 billion dollars.
